Angella  Faith Montfaucon, Ph. D



Angella Faith Montfaucon is an economist with current research interests in the fields of international trade policy and exchange rates. She has particular skills handling highly disaggregated micro data such as customs-level data that she works with in her research.

Angella is a Research Fellow at the Southern African Institute for Economic Research (SAIER) and recently selected as a Junior fellow at the Pan-African Scientific Research Council. She is also the President of the Indigenous Economics Society of Malawi (IESM)  which she founded as a student club in college. She is in the 2019 cohort of the renowned World Bank's Young Professional's Program, working on East Asia and Pacific region.


She holds an MA in Economic Policy Management from the University of Zambia and a PhD in Economics from Yokohama National University, in Japan.
