Welcome!

Dr. Angella Faith Montfaucon (nee: Lapukeni), a Malawian national, is an economist at the Macroeconomic, Trade and Investment (MTI) Global Practice in the East Asia and Pacific Region of the World Bank. She joined the Bank through the 2019 cohort of the  World Bank's Young Professional Program. Her research interests are in the fields of international trade policy, global value chains and exchange rates. S, working on the East Asia and Pacific region.

Angella is also a non-resident research fellow at the Southern African Institute for Economic Research (SAIER) and a junior fellow at the Pan-African Scientific Research Council. Angella holds an MA in Economic Policy Management from the University of Zambia and a Ph.D. in Economics from Yokohama National University, in Japan and has published in leading journals. Prior to joining the Bank, she was a senior fiscal analyst at the Reserve Bank of Malawi.

Apart from Economics, Angella is also a songwriter and Christian rapper, and enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her son and her husband.
